After several tests and favorable comments, I can officialy launch DOP Player WordPress Plugin 1.0.
Dop Player is intended for users that want an easy to use player to integrate in their blog.
Dop Player can be easily customized from an admin panel to match your template’s colors.
Warning
You have to copy the content from dop-player folder from the zip file. If you don’t you will see only a space where the player should be.
You have in the zip file:
- ZIP/dop-player/dop-player.php
- ZIP/dop-player/dop-player/dop-player-admin.php
- ZIP/dop-player/dop-player/dop-player.swf
In your plugin folder you should have:
- WWW/wp-content/plugins/dop-player.php
- WWW/wp-content/plugins/dop-player/dop-player-admin.php
- WWW/wp-content/plugins/dop-player/dop-player.swf
You can download it from:

If you read this blog post and the documentation that comes with he plugin you shouldn’t have no problems. The plugin works but if you don’t manage I will be happy to help you.
The usability and documentation of this plugin sucks. Why would you bother making this if you can’t use it. Thanks for wasting all of our time and yours.
You say use the add video feature?
all that does is create link to the video file (a href=”video link”>link to video?) thats not a embeded video.
your documentation says “2. You can easily add a movie using only WordPress admin panel (no need to add codes to your template). ”
…You can easily do 1000′s of things in the wp admin panel. We dont know which specific action your talking about. Please be more specific.
Why do you think so many people are asking you how to use it? you dont tell them how.
I had the same problem. It was an uncorrect link to dop-player.swf
Installer creates a further subfolder dop-player.
You have to edit dop-player/dop-player.php and add “dop-player/” to the player url string in flash tag.
All should work fine.
Hi Marius, great plugin thanks!
Is there a version of the player by any chance without the fast-forward/rewind buttons? when the player gets sized below 300px these buttons overlap with the timer and that might confuse the user. And for most movies these buttons don’t get used..
Let us know
Many Thanks
i am facing same problem with this plugin, not able to upload Video and my .swf file is on folder….
please help me..
I don’t see any button either. I’ve installed the plugin through wordpress plugin installator
I’m also using WP 3.1 and I still cannot see any option to embed the mp4 in my posts or pages. What can we do to get this to work?
Thanks a ton!
Hi,
There aren’t any changes. You use the build-in “Add Video” option.
I’m missing something. I have installed the plugin. I see the config page under “Settings” in WordPress 3.1. But I’m not seeing ANY toolbar changes, nor any new icons next to the four default ones found by “Upload/Insert.”
I’ve tried copying the SWF player from the wp-content/plugins/dop-player/dop-player folder one level up. No joy. Then I tried copying the SWF file to the root plugin folder. Still no better.
So…how do I get this to work?
Just over the editor there is a line that starts with Upload/Insert
Hi Marius,
I added the plug-in and am using WP 3.03. I don’t see the any buttons above the text controls on a post. What am I missing? Where do I find them?
Thanks for designing this plug-in.
@James
Make sure dop-player.swf is in dop-player folder.
